Georgian Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic Opens in Innisfil

Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Joins Georgian Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic to Celebrate the Grand Opening of New Innisfil Location

November 15, 2024 – Innisfil, ON

Today, the Georgian Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (GNPLC) officially celebrated the grand opening of its second location in Innisfil, with the Honorable Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, attending as the event’s guest of honour. Minister Jones was joined by local officials and health care leaders to commemorate this expansion, which brings primary care and allied health services to over 3,000 residents in need.
The new clinic, which has been operational since October, provides nurse practitioner-led primary care along with dietitian services, mental health support, and other essential health services. The grand opening event, held at the Rizzardo Health & Wellness Centre, included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and remarks from Minister Jones and local leaders, underscoring the collaborative effort and provincial investment that made the clinic possible.

A Vital Step in Expanding Health Care Access
In her remarks, Minister Jones highlighted the Ontario government’s commitment to expanding health care options for underserved communities. Through a nearly $1.5 million investment, the provincial government has supported GNPLC’s mission to improve access to quality health services in Innisfil and the surrounding area. The clinic’s addition to the community marks a major milestone in making primary care more accessible to residents who lack a local provider.
