Meet Andrea Khanjin
When Andrea was four years old, she immigrated to Canada with her grandparents, and they settled in Barrie. Growing up here, Andrea learned how blessed she was to live, work, and play in the wonderful Barrie and Innisfil communities.
Andrea graduated with honours from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Social Science Degree majoring in Political Science and minoring in Economics. As a student, Andrea was a constituency assistant for a Conservative MP in which taught her how to cut through the government red tape. Being in Ottawa; Andrea was able to work for three cabinet ministers in which she learned significant policies, including how to balance the budget and provide opportunities for all our citizens.
As a Member of the Ontario PC Caucus Services, Andrea knows what it takes to help focus on the things that affect our communities, including the continuation of cleaning up Lake Simcoe. Andrea’s care and desire to help create a better community and habitat landed her the title of Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks. This entitlement will allow her to help better the community in which she is so very proud to call home.
In 2018, the people in the Barrie-Innisfil Riding elected Andrea. She will now work hard to bring positive results for everyone. She hopes to secure funding for our infrastructure needs, makes life in our communities more affordable and deliver an economic strategy that will help for better-paying jobs.
This Community is Andrea’s home. She is proud of the values of hard work, service and respect that she has learned by living here. She is ready to serve Barrie-Innisfil and bring those values into Queen Park.
Andrea lives in Innisfil with her husband Kevin and son Oliver.
